Really pleased with this. Great practical guide to accessing the stock market online, as well as an interesting and entertaining read. Clear definitions, and handy weblinks to turn ideas into action while reading.
I've read this very useful book, exceptionally readable, giving the private investor the tools to access the market and create a better return without excessive charges. Given the structure of the book, an active investor can subsequently use it as a reference bible by using the contents section at the beginning of the book to find a term in it's context, learning more accurately, and therefore functioning better in the complex surroundings of the market.
This work gives equal weight to US and UK investments, with occasional reference to EU opportunities. At every point however further information sources from the internet are given. This is the power Mr. Sweeney gives to the private investor.
All in all a tool for those of us who venture for returns above the safe but useless gains in the deposit account!
As someone trying to make their own way in the world of stock market investment, this book has proved an excellent choice. It has given me the knowledge I need to invest on my own with confidence; enabling me to participate in the market as an active investor with the help of a wealth of web links that lead me directly to where I need to be in the world of financial investment. Until reading this book, I was not aware of just how vital the internet had become to being an informed and, in turn, successful investor.
